1. Stretches to Relieve Low Back Stiffness (with Active Isolated Stretching)

Course Description: To relieve stiffness and muscle spasm in the low back and hip utilizing any styles of massage is only part of the job. To complete the treatment, you must stretch out the massaged and softened muscles and improve soft tissue elasticity and increase joint range of motion. In this workshop you will learn how to integrate these stretches and assist your clients during a session. Implement very effective and specific Active Isolated Stretches to the Erector Spinae group, Piriformis, Psoas, Quadratus Lumborum, Hamstrings, Gluteus Maximus and more.
DVD is available for sale.

3. Psoas Release Techniques

Course Description: When clients complain of low back, hip, “down the leg” pain, we will always seem to work the posterior aspect of the back and release those spasmed muscles. However, the most important aspect to relieve any of the low back symptoms is working the anterior aspect of the back and hip too! The Psoas Major & Minor and Iliacus are primary core stabilizers. We will focus on location, palpation and learn hands-on massage techniques that will release, stretch and strengthen these powerful core muscles. Techniques will include Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Active Isolated Stretching, Active Release Techniques, and Passive Stretching. As well as home- care exercises to assist in the healthy balance and continued maintenance of your work. Deepen your therapeutic impact by working with the psoas and other hip-flexing synergist muscles and truly relieve chronic low back, hip and leg pain.
